The Rauriser ski area is fits both beginners and advanced riders and one finds here a very variable terrain. There are three skiing schools at your service. The Gipfelbahn (peak lift) will take you to just under the 2211 meter high Reisrachkopf. This is the summit of the skiing region and offers a fantastic alpine panorama and the starting point for wonderful descents.

The skiing area offers a wide diversity of slopes and descents, more than enough not to get bored for a few weeks. The stretch between the Hoch- and Heimalm is very wide and optimal family friendly. There's also a slalom track with time measurement to test the sportive aspirations and a natural boardercross and halfpipe-like stretch is found in the opposite direction. For the advanced riders there's the 'house special' with the Waldalm t-bar-lift to the offpiste 'eastwing' of the mountain. The Cross bottom (Kreuzboden) side of the skiing area offers the more diverse and challenging range of slopes.

News
As from the season of 2007/2008 the valley descent from the 'Heimalm' has been extended and got artificial snow facilities fixed, this means we have now two guaranteed valley descents in Rauris through the season! The area has been brought up to standard and 90% percent of the slopes can now be 'snowgunned' if necessary. Therefore a reservoir was created which holds 65000 cubic meters of water.

Skiing area
The skiing area (950-2200) with it's thirty kilometers of slopes is small but special. No mass tourism, no long waiting times at the lifts but a relaxed ambiance, personal treatment with the crew of the skiing area and skiing schools and a convenient slope arrangement where the older kids can go their own way without any worries. As soon as king winter strikes the normally so quiet village is suddenly full with an excitement and spirit that each person will be intoxicated with. The danger of it is that when you've been there once you'll have to go back.

Due to its geographical situation Rauris benefits from snow coming from the south as well as from the north, therefore we can almost guarantee optimal snow conditions. And when necessary the skiing area can be serviced with artificial snow for 85% of the slope area. With our live webcam you can monitor the snow conditions through the Internet or telly.

"this region suits families optimally. The slopes are perfectly groomed. The lift crew offers maximum skiing and snowboarding pleasure even with a minimal amount of snow. At the Hoch- and Heimalm restaurants there's not only eye for the profit but very much care for content customers. The lift crew can be seen as the crème the la crème of the whole region! Really great"

Ski Schools

The Rauriser Skiing schools, 'Adventure Rauris', 'Karl Maier' and 'Hohe Tauern', have made it their goal to provide your children and you with a particularly enjoyable time.

The children's skiing courses include a lot of extra activities and during the afternoon break your children are taken well care of by the child-care skiing teachers.

The snow escalator, the kids-club express train, magic carpet, horse-coach ride, walks with flare, traditional sleigh rides, spectacular ski-show with fireworks and the ski contest at the end of the week all contribute to making the Rauriser skiing holiday a very special experience for all.

Not only for children and beginners a skiing course is worthwhile. With our professional attendance everybody finds the perfect guidance, no matter what level.

Even if you are looking for a skiing tour or an off-piste descent, such ventures can be elevated to a higher level and grade of experiencing it under guidance of a Skischool.

Snowboard & Freeski

With its perfect northeastern orientated slopes, Rauris offers a powder-snow paradise that makes you float on cloud no. 7. Another challenge is the natural halfpipe combined with boardercross-like stretch just above the 'gipfel bahn' bottom station. On both sides you can have your jumps and try something new all the time. Besides that you'll find lots of kickers and natural obstacles to take in the wide Rauriser back-country.

Boardercross
The boardercross on the 'Heimalm'-side of the skiing area is a sort of natural halfpipe, where the sides aren't so strongly accented, for many a nice and apprecieated variety. Especially for the kids the boardercross is always a hightlight.
